Miniature Zebu

Miniature Zebu are a hearty, disease and pest resistant breed of cattle.  They originated in India and are natural “miniatures,” as they were not bred down from larger sized breeds. They come in many colors and patterns, with gray being the most common.

Being a smaller breed of cattle, the pasture and feed required to maintain the Miniature Zebu is only one fourth to one third of what regular sized cattle require. You can raise two to three Miniature Zebu per acre and they are easy to care for. This makes them ideal for small farms. They are also much safer for families and children to handle.

At maturity the Miniature Zebu typically ranges from 29 to 42 inches tall and weighs 200 to 600 pounds. The average lifespan of Miniature Zebu is 20+ years. Newborn calves are often 15 to 18 inches tall and weigh 10 to 20 pounds.
